Intec has developed a product that follows the trend of induction charging. The Intec Wii Induction charger will allow you to recharge your wiimotes without having the need of removing their batteries or docking them into a system.

This is a Wii induction charger aimed at recharging two controllers simultaneously, so it comes with 2 rechargeable battery packs. Unlike other types of chargers, this works with a USB cable that is connected to your Wii. While some people will love this feature, others will definitely find it inconvenient, especially if you don’t plan to have the Wii turned on at all times.
The induction panel serves as a resting place for the Wiimotes and they will automatically recharge when laid upon it if you have the battery packs provided with the product. When it comes to ease of use, induction panels can’t be beaten but the Intec Wii Induction Charger may require better positioning than other alternatives which have magnets to put the controllers in place. On the good side, the panel is wide enough to accommodate controllers with the Wii Plus accessory and has no problems charging Wiimotes with the rubber protection on.
The Intec Wii Induction Charger panel comes with the traditional LED indicator, however we found the light to be very bright in dark environments, which can be pretty distracting or even annoying. You can optionally turn off the panel without having to disconnect it, but it won’t recharge your batteries.
And how well can it charge the batteries? From our tests we have no problems running out of batteries during our gaming sessions, but according to some reviews on the Web and feedback from our visitors, some people have problems keeping the batteries fully charged, which indicates that some units may have problems.
Our verdict: Although the Intec Wii Induction charger does an OK job for a charger, there are much better options on the market. Still, if you want a USB-powered charger, this option may be good for you.
